Close Protection is the key element of the training at the Center. This section provides the student with the core competencies to operate successfully in the real world of close protection.
The Instructors who are all experienced operators guide the students through a series of lectures and practical training scenarios
Student will carry out close protection exercises in a variety of environments in teams of various sizes, from details consisting of 2 men to large 4-6man details working in

During the Close Protection Phase Students are taught the core skills of an effective CP operator, the areas covered include

  • Mission Planning and writing Operations Orders.
  • Threat recognition and risk management.
  • Communication.
  • Route and contingency planning.
  • Foot formations.
  • Weapon Handling and marksmanship
  • First aid

The understanding and writing of operations orders is an essential skill that all CP operators must master if they are to lead or become part of an effective team. Throughout the course students will construct and deliver operations orders both as duty team leaders and as part of the CP team.

Students will also be given instruction in threat analysis and the management of risk.

Our ethos is to provide you the student with a comprehensive set of theoretical and practical skills to enable you start operating in the world of Close Protection

Our weapon handling and shooting program will have you firing a large variety of weapons and obtaining the skills necessary to safely use live weapons in multi personnel formations. You will conduct live firing exercises while walking a client, using both handguns and long guns at multiple targets. You will expend more ammunition on this course than on any other similar course we are aware of.
